Personnel Network

How Arc records candidate relationships, and how to use them.

What Is the Personnel Network

The personnel network is a visual and analytical map of relationships between candidates — shared employers, professional connections, referral paths, and alumni networks. It answers the question: how do I reach this candidate, and who else is connected to them?

Network Graph

Strategic → Personnel Network opens an interactive graph explorer.

Nodes represent people. Edges represent relationships — professional connection, shared employer, or referral link. Hover over a node to see the candidate's name and key details. Click a node to open their full candidate profile.

  • Zoom — scroll to zoom in and out
  • Pan — click and drag to move around the graph
  • Filter — use the controls to highlight specific relationship types or Access Score ranges

SuperGrid View

Below the graph, the SuperGrid provides a tabular view of the same network data with additional columns:

  • Candidate name and current role
  • Relationship strength score
  • Access Score
  • Susceptibility rating
  • Network connections count

The SuperGrid supports sorting, filtering, and export — use it to build targeted candidate shortlists based on network proximity.

Susceptibility Analysis

Each candidate in the network has a Susceptibility score representing their likelihood of considering a move. This is calculated from:

  • Career tenure at current employer
  • Career progression rate
  • Company-level signals (hiring freezes, restructuring, leadership changes)
  • Market demand for their skills
  • Personal intent signals

Use this alongside the Access Score to judge when to approach a candidate.

This was previously called a susceptibility score. The data is unchanged; the word was not — it described a person as something to be exploited rather than someone to be contacted well. The stored field is candidates.outreach_recommendation.

Warm Introduction Paths

Where a shared connection between your team and a candidate is known, it is surfaced on the candidate's page. A warm introduction gets a markedly better response rate than cold outreach, so it is worth checking before you start a sequence.

The standalone graph database and the /network explorer that once backed this were removed in July 2026 — the graph was expensive to keep in sync and almost nobody opened it. What remains is the per-candidate panel.
